A Commissioner's appointment may be renewed
by the Township Board for an additional three-year term.
The Township Board may remove appointed commissioners upon proof by a preponderance of evidence that the accused member committed misconduct or gross neglect of official duties at a hearing before the Township Board. The Commissioner may waive the hearing and submit a resignation as an alternative. See generally Article

The Township Board shall fill vacancies on the
Commission created by events other than the regularly scheduled expiration
of the Commissioner's term by appointing a new Commissioner who shall
serve the remainder of the term held by the Commissioner who has vacated
the Commissioner seat.
Members of the Commission shall serve without
compensation but shall be entitled to actual and necessary expenses,
approved by the Township Board, incurred in the performance of official
duties.
