It shall be unlawful for any person to hunt
by any means any birds, animals or fowl within the Township.
It shall be unlawful for any person to trap
or to set out or make use of any kind or type of trap for the purpose
of trapping any animals, birds or fowl within the Township. This section
shall not prohibit the owner or occupant of any property from trapping
thereon any rodents or from trapping by use of a live trap any animal
thereon for the purpose of live release thereafter of any such trapped
animal as permitted and in accordance with Department of Natural Resources
rules and regulations.
Any traps or other apparatus used in prohibited
trapping and any firearms, dangerous weapons, air or BB guns, slingshots,
or bow and arrow used in violation of this chapter shall be seized
and disposed of in accordance with the order of the court in which
such violation is prosecuted. In the event that there exists no court
order for the disposition of such seized property, such property shall
be returned to the owner or to the person entitled to possession thereof
if such person is known or can be determined. In the event that the
owner or person entitled to such property is not known or cannot be
determined, then such seized property shall be disposed of in the
manner provided for in the disposition of abandoned property.

Penalties for violation of this chapter shall be punishable as provided in Chapter
1, General Provisions, §
1-3. The provisions of Chapter
1, Article
II, Municipal Civil Infractions, also apply to violations of this chapter.
