[Adopted 3-19-1975 as Ch. 6, Art. VII, of the 1975 Code]
A Recreation Board is hereby established, which Board shall consist of seven persons, two of the members of which shall be members or appointees of the Ridley School Board and five members of such Board to be appointed by the Board of Township Commissioners.
The members of the Board shall serve for terms of five years or until their successors are appointed, except that the members of such Board first appointed shall be appointed for such terms that the terms of not more than two members shall expire annually thereafter. All persons so appointed shall serve their full terms unless they shall voluntarily resign or be removed by the Board of Township Commissioners for malfeasance or nonfeasance of duty. Vacancies in such Board occurring otherwise than by expiration of term shall be filled for the unexpired term in the same manner as original appointments.
Members of such Board shall serve without pay.
The Recreation Board shall exercise its powers and duties in establishing standards, qualifications and salary schedules, which shall not become effective unless first approved by the Board of Township Commissioners.
The Recreation Board shall elect its own Chairman and Secretary and select all other necessary officers, to serve for a period of one year, and may employ such persons as may be needed, subject to the approval of the Board of Township Commissioners.
It shall be the duty of the Recreation Board to submit an annual report to the Board of Township Commissioners, including an analysis of the community recreation areas, facilities and leadership, with particular reference to the extent and adequacy of the program and its effectiveness in view of the public expenditure involved and the public needs to be met.
