As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings
indicated:
AUCTION or SALE AT AUCTION
The verbal exchanges between an auctioneer and members of his audience,
conducting an invitation or series of invitations for offers for the sale
of goods or real estate made by the auctioneer, offers by members of the audience
and the acceptance of bids by the auctioneer.
GOODS
Any goods, wares, works of art, commodity, compound or thing, chattels,
merchandise, vehicles or personal property, which may be lawfully kept or
offered for sale, including domestic animals and farm products, but shall
not include nor apply to sales at auction conducted pursuant to any judicial
order or decree, or in the settlement of a decedent's estate, or to any
sale conducted by or on behalf of any charitable corporation or association
if the person conducting the sale receives no compensation therefor.
No auction shall be conducted within the Township of Ridley except by
an auctioneer or apprentice auctioneer duly licensed by the Board of Auctioneer
Examiners of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Said auctioneer or apprentice
auctioneer is hereby required to show such license or facsimile thereof on
demand by any person at all auction sales.

Any person, firm or corporation violating any provisions in this chapter
shall, upon conviction before any District Justice, be subject to a fine not
exceeding $600, plus costs of prosecution, and in default of payment thereof,
shall be imprisoned in the county jail for not more than 30 days. Each violation
of this chapter shall constitute a separate offense and shall be punishable
as such.
