Garages shall conform to all other applicable requirements of this Part 1 as well as the following provisions.
No person shall use any building, shed or enclosure as a place of business for the purpose of servicing or repairing any motor vehicle therein without a permit.
Welding and cutting and other processes involving direct application of flame shall not be carried on in any garage housing more than 20 automobiles on any floor unless the garage is equipped with an approved automatic sprinkler system or such processes are carried on in a room enclosed by walls and ceiling of construction having a fire-resistance rating of not less than one hour, with openings therein protected by approved fire doors or fire windows and with no opening from such room to any upper story. No repairs of any kind shall be made in any garage the floor of which is below entrance level.
No flammable liquid with a flash point below 100° F. shall be used in any garage for washing parts or removing grease or dirt, unless in a special closed machine approved for the purpose or in a separate, well-ventilated room enclosed by walls having a fire-resistance rating of not less than two hours, with openings therein protected by approved fire doors or fire windows and with no opening from such room to any upper or lower story.
A. 
Storage and handling of flammable liquids shall conform to Article VI. No transfer of gasoline in any garage shall be made in any open container.
B. 
No garage floor drain shall connect to any sewer unless provided with an oil separator or trap.
