The Borough of Ridgefield hereby establishes
a "no nepotism" policy in terms of employment by the Borough.

No parent, child, spouse or sibling of any elected
official of the Borough of Ridgefield, department head or President
or Chairman of any board in any branch of Ridgefield's municipal government
may serve as a full or part time paid employee of the Borough of Ridgefield,
except that a parent, child, spouse or sibling of the President or
Chairman of a nonpaid board may serve as a full- or part-time employee
of the Borough, although that employment may not be for or in connection
with the board on which the relative is President or Chairman.

No parent, child, spouse or sibling of any elected
official of the Borough of Ridgefield, department head or President
or Chairman of any board in any branch of Ridgefield's municipal government
shall be appointed by the Mayor and Council to any paid position with
a board or committee of the Borough of Ridgefield, except that a parent,
child, spouse or sibling of the President or Chairman of a nonpaid
board may be appointed by the Mayor and Council to a paid position,
although that position may not be for or in connection with the board
on which the relative is President or Chairman.

The provisions of this article shall not apply
to temporary part-time positions with the Recreation Department and/or
Department of Public Works. The provisions of this article do not
apply to those entities of the Borough of Ridgefield which, by operation
of law, operate as separate and independent entities of the municipal
government, including, but not limited to, the Board of Health, Public
Library and Planning Board.
