The permit fee schedule of the Building Department
of the Borough of Ridgefield be and is hereby amended in accordance
with the Proposed Permit Fee Schedule - 1989, which is attached hereto
and made a part hereof as Exhibit A.

B.
Engineers
escrow for certain developments: All residential developments involving
new construction of a one-, two-, three- or multifamily dwellings;
and all commercial development involving the erection of a new structure,
shall be required to post an engineering escrow for review and inspection
in the amount of $2,500.

The purpose of this article is to identify and
mark buildings of truss-type construction and/or buildings containing
other rooftop hazards in order to safeguard the occupants and emergency
personnel in the event of a fire or other hazardous condition.
The provisions of this article shall apply to
the owner/occupant of any building or structure of truss-type construction
and/or any building containing other rooftop hazards as determined
by the Fire Official.
As used in this article, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
Used or intended for supporting or sheltering any use or
occupancy, including but not limited to commercial, residential, governmental
and educational, and any other place of public assembly.
The Borough of Ridgefield Fire Official or his designated
representative, as defined in N.J.A.C. 5:70, Uniform Fire Code.
Cellular telephone antennas, control and transmission equipment,
cabling, power supplies and support structure attached to the roof
and/or any part of a building.
Any natural person or individual or any firm, partnership,
association, limited partnership, sole proprietorship, corporation
or other business entity or any government agency or entity.
A truss is a single-plane framework of individual structural
members connected at their ends to form a series of triangles to span
a distance greater than would be possible with any of the individual
members on its own. Metal bar joists are trusses.
A.
This article shall be enforced by the Fire Official
and the Building Department.
B.
Upon inspection and identification of a building of
such truss-type construction, the owner/occupant shall be notified
by the Fire Official of the requirements of this article in accordance
with the Uniform Fire Code of the State of New Jersey.
C.
Upon inspection and identification of a building containing
other rooftop hazards, the owner/occupant shall be notified by the
Fire Official of the requirements for compliance with this article.
D.
Upon application to the Building Department for a
permit to erect, place or install cellular telephone antennas, control
and transmission equipment, cabling, power supplies and support structure
in or upon any structure in the Borough of Ridgefield, the applicant
will be notified of the provisions of this article and will be directed
to obtain and install the necessary signage from the Fire Prevention
Bureau. A certificate of occupancy will not be issued until the appropriate
signage is installed in accordance with this article.
E.
Upon notification, the owner/occupant will be required
to permanently affix a Ridgefield Fire Prevention-approved twelve-by-eight-inch
reflective truss construction identification logo or rooftop hazard
logo on the building. The exact location shall be determined by the
Fire Official. The identification logo shall be properly installed
within 10 days of receipt of written notice. The initial identification
logo will be supplied by the Ridgefield Fire Department.
F.
The owner/occupant shall be required to maintain the
approved identification logo at the designated locations on the building.
Missing or damaged identification logos will be reported to the Fire
Official immediately. Replacement cost shall be the responsibility
of the owner/occupant. Replacement must be made within 10 days of
written notice from the Fire Official. Approved identification logos
are available from the Fire Official.

The initial identification and marking fee shall be
$150. A fee of $50 shall be added for each additional building thereof.
B.
Replacement logos will be billed based on current
costs per unit.
C.
The Mayor and Council of the Borough of Ridgefield
may waive fees for nonprofit and charitable organizations.
Penalties shall be assessed in accordance with
the Uniform Fire Code, State of New Jersey, N.J.A.C. 5:70 for truss-type
construction signs and, in accordance with this article, for rooftop
hazard signs, as follows:
