The Department of General Administration shall
have charge of all matters committed to the Township Clerk by statute
and the ordinances of the Township; the custody of the records of
the Township, except as the same pertain exclusively to other departments;
all purchases of supplies and equipment; and the supervision of telephone
operators, stenographers and clerks, but subject to the jurisdiction
of the heads of other departments when the employees have been assigned
from time to time to duty in other departments.
The head of the Department shall be the Township
Clerk.
There may be employed an Assistant Township
Clerk, who shall be assistant to the head of the Department and who
shall perform the duties of the Township Clerk in his absence so far
as permitted by law. The term of office of Assistant Township Clerk
shall be one year. There may also be employed an assistant to the
Township Clerk, whose term of office shall be one year and whose duties
shall be such as are prescribed by the Township Clerk.
