Effective on January 1, 1962, the local Board
of Health shall consist of five members, who may be members of the
Township Committee.
Members shall be appointed by the Township Committee
at its organization meeting each year to fill offices then vacant.
The term of office of the members of the Board
of Health shall be three years, commencing on the date of the organization
meeting of the Township Committee in the year of appointment and ending
on the date of the organization meeting of the Township Committee
in the year of the expiration of the term, except that the appointments
to the local Board on January 1, 1962, shall be as follows: two members
shall be appointed for three years, two members for two years and
one member for one year. All following appointments, except appropriate
to fill unexpired terms, shall be for three years.
Vacancies in the membership of the Board of
Health, whether by death, resignation or otherwise than by expiration
of the term of office, shall be filled by appointment by the Township
Committee for the unexpired portion of the term only.
