No person shall discharge within the limits of the Village any firearms,
guns or air rifles or any gun so constructed as to discharge pellets, darts
or BB's by spring, compressed air or compressed gas. This chapter shall not
apply to police officers in the discharge of their duties nor to any firing
squad at a military funeral, nor to any properly constructed range approved
by a Village Justice of the Village.
No firearm or gun covered by this chapter shall be carried in or through
the Village unless the same is completely unloaded and unless the same is
either:
A.
Completely contained within a case or other covering
completely encompassing the firearm or gun; or
B.
Disassembled or broken open, or the bolt firing mechanism
is removed, if feasible, or the firing chamber is completely open as in the
case of pump-and-lever type and similar firearms and guns and also in the
case of those firearms and guns for which the bolt firing mechanism cannot
be completely removed.
