In compiling and preparing the ordinances and 1990 Code of Ordinances for publication as the 2004 Code of the Town of Lincoln, no changes in the meaning or intent of such ordinances have been made. Certain grammatical changes and other minor nonsubstantive changes were made in one or more of said pieces of legislation. It is the intention of the Town Council that all such changes be adopted as part of the Code as if the ordinances had been previously formally amended to read as such.
In compiling and preparing the ordinances and 1990 Code of Ordinances for publication as the 2004 Code of the Town of Lincoln, the citation style of references to the Rhode Island General Laws has been standardized to the following format: R.I.G.L. § _______. In addition, where statutory references in such ordinances previously referred to an outdated citation and a new citation is clearly in effect, such references have been updated in the 2004 Code. It is the intention of the Town Council that all such updated statutory references be adopted as part of the Code as if the ordinances had been previously formally amended to read as such.
The provisions of this ordinance are hereby made Article V of Chapter 1, General Provisions, of the Code of the Town of Lincoln, such ordinance to be entitled "Article V, Adoption of Renumbered 2004 Code," and the sections of this ordinance shall be numbered §§ 1-26 to 1-30, inclusive.
This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage.
