There shall be Parks and Recreation Division within the Department of Public Works, the head of which shall be a Director of Parks and Recreation who shall be appointed by the Town Administrator with the approval of the Town Council and Parks and Recreation Commission.
The Director of Parks and Recreation shall administer the policies, programs, and activities of all parks within the Town as prescribed by the Parks and Recreation Commission. He shall assume those duties assigned to the Department of Public Works relative to park areas by the Town Charter and shall assume such functions so as to insure the orderly and efficient operation of the parks and recreation areas.
The Director of Parks and Recreation shall be a classified employee. Compensation and qualifications shall be in accordance with the Classification and Pay Ordinance of the Town.[1] The Director shall be removed only in accordance with the provisions of the Charter and the Classification Ordinance.
