The following chapter, with all ordinances supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof, shall constitute and be known as the "Sanitary Code of the Borough of Wanaque."
A. 
The following terms, when used in this chapter, shall be constructed as follows:
BOARD
The Board of Health of the Borough of Wanaque.
BOROUGH
The Borough of Wanaque.
CATTLE
Cows, bulls, calves, mules, asses, sheep, goats, pigs, hogs, horses, swine and any other "cattle."
CODE or SANITARY CODE
The provisions of this chapter and all ordinances supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof.
EXECUTIVE OFFICER or HEALTH OFFICER
Any person so designated by the Board.
FOOD
Every article used for food or drink by man or animal, and every ingredient in such article and all confections and condiments.
FOOD ESTABLISHMENT
Any and all stores, premises, places or vehicles used for the selling, distribution, serving, delivery, production, preparation, manufacturing, packing, storage, transportation or hauling of food or drink.
KENNEL
Any building, yard, enclosure, premises, lot or grounds used for the keeping, raising, selling, breeding or boarding of five or more dogs.
PACKAGE or CONTAINER
Wrapper, case, basket, hamper, can, bottle, jar, tube, cask, vessel, tub, firkin, keg, jug, barrel or other receptacles of a like nature.
PERMIT
The written permission of the Board.
PERSON
Includes both singular and plural, as the case demands, and shall include any individuals, corporations, companies, societies, firms, partnerships, associations and joint-stock companies. Wherever the word "person" is used in this chapter, it shall also be held to apply to all municipalities and all municipal corporations.
POULTRY
Chickens, roosters, capons, hens, ducks, geese, pheasants, turkeys, pigeons and guinea fowl and all other fowl.
PUBLIC PLACE
Parks, piers, docks, wharves and water, and open spaces thereto adjacent, and also public yards, grounds, lots and areas and all open spaces between buildings and streets, and in view of such streets in this borough.
SMALL ANIMALS
Rabbits, mink, guinea pigs and any other "small animals." Dogs and cats shall not be held to be included within the meaning of the term "small animals."
STREET
Any public street, avenue, sidewalk, gutter, place, highway, public alley, boulevard, esplanade, parkway or square, or any part or side thereof in the borough.

All words and phrases defined herein shall also include their natural and usual meanings as well as those herein especially given.
