Editor's Note: This ordinance also provided for the abolishment of the Road Department and the Water Department, consolidating both departments into the Department of Public Works.
There is hereby established a Department of Public Works within the Borough of Wanaque, consisting of two divisions: Parks and Roads and Water and Sewer.
The Department of Public Works shall be headed by a Superintendent of Public Works, who shall be appointed based on education and experience, and shall serve in the unclassified service in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:9-154.5.
The Parks and Road Division shall be responsible for the care and maintenance of all Borough roads, storm drains, parks, buildings, fields, vehicle maintenance and other duties as assigned.
The Water and Sewer Division shall be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Borough's Water Utility and the Borough's Sewer Utility, and other duties as assigned.
All employees shall be trained in the operation of both divisions, to the extent authorized by the Superintendent of Public Works.
