§ 65-1 Establishment of Free Public Library.

There is hereby established a Free Public Library in the City of Clifton pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:54-1 to 40:54-29 of Title 40, Municipalities and Counties.

§ 65-2 Facilities continued; control and management.

The public library and reading room heretofore established and maintained for the use and benefit of the residents of the City of Clifton are hereby continued, and the control and management thereof are hereby transferred and conveyed to the Trustees of the Free Public Library of the City of Clifton, hereinafter created.

§ 65-3 Trustees created.

There is hereby created a body corporate under the name of the "Trustees of the Free Public Library of the City of Clifton," which body corporate shall have all of the powers, duties and responsibilities provided to such Board under and in accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40:54-1 to 40:54-29 of Title 40, Municipalities and Counties, of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey.

§ 65-4 Powers and duties of Board of Directors transferred to Trustees.

The Board of Directors of the public library and reading room created by the provisions of Chapter 8, Article 2, of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Clifton as the same existed prior to the adoption of this chapter, upon adoption of this chapter, shall cease to exist, and all of the powers, duties and responsibilities shall be transferred to the Trustees of the Free Public Library of the City of Clifton herein created, and the terms of all members of said former Board of Directors shall be terminated upon final passage of this chapter.
