The use of electronic traffic signals is hereby
approved within the City of Franklin at locations designated by the
City Council. The type, size, installation and method of operation
of such signals shall be in conformance with the regulations and orders
of the New Hampshire Commissioner of Transportation. The colored lights
and directional arrows at said intersections using electronic traffic
signals shall have the same meanings as defined in the regulatory
order of the Commissioner of Transportation of the State of New Hampshire
dated January 21, 1953. All vehicular and pedestrian traffic shall
obey the signals indicated by said lights as defined in that order.
The definitions and regulations of that order are hereby adopted by
reference and incorporated into this article.

The hours and mode of operation of electronic
traffic signals shall be in accordance with the decisions of the Chief
of Police and Director of the Municipal Services Department. The operation
and maintenance of such signals is hereby entrusted to the Department
of Municipal Services.
No person operating a motor vehicle shall enter
or pass through an intersection at which the traffic is controlled
by electronic signals without due regard for the safety of other persons
in the vicinity of the intersection regardless of the signal indication.
