The Mayor or the Deputy Mayor is authorized
to make, and any policeman or other peace officer on duty in the Village
is authorized to enforce, temporary regulations to cover special or
temporary conditions, such as, for example, during road repairs, snowstorms,
social events, athletic events, elections and the like, during which
temporary period of time or at which special location such regulations
shall supersede the provisions of this chapter.
In case of a fire, accident or other emergency,
or for the purpose of expediting traffic or safeguarding pedestrians,
any policemen or other peace officers on duty in the Village or designated
members of the Fire Department or Village employees may direct traffic,
as conditions may require, notwithstanding the provisions of this
chapter.
It shall be unlawful for any person to refuse
or fail to obey or comply with any lawful order, signal or direction
of a policeman or other peace officer or designated member of the
Fire Department or Village employee.
