The Fire Chief of the Borough of Waynesboro,
Pennsylvania is hereby authorized to establish fire lanes within the
Borough at such locations as he deems necessary in order to facilitate
the free passage and access of fire apparatus and emergency vehicles.

Upon any such fire lane being established by
the Fire Chief, the same shall be clearly marked by signs posted along
the edge of the fire lane at the height of 7 feet from the pavement
to the bottom of the sign, which signs shall be a minimum of 12 inches
by 18 inches in size with white background containing red lettering,
which shall read
NO PARKING — FIRE LANE

"No Parking" shall be three inches tall and
"Fire Lane" shall be two inches tall. Said signs shall be spaced a
maximum of 100 feet from each other.

No vehicle shall park or shall be permitted
to stand in any such marked fire lane at any time within a distance
of 15 feet from the curb or other nearest obstruction from the traveled
portion of the fire lane.
Any vehicle found parked or standing in any such fire lane may be removed in accordance with the provisions of Part
4 of this chapter.

Any person violating any provisions of this
Part 5 or aiding or abetting or assisting in the violation of this
Part 5, shall upon conviction thereof be sentenced to pay a fine of
$25 and costs of prosecution, and in default of payment of such fine
and costs to imprisonment for not more than 10 days. Any person charged
with a violation of this Part 5 may plead guilty by paying to the
Borough of Waynesboro at the office of the Borough Manager, a sum
to be established by Borough Council by resolution.
