The position, title and office of Chief Financial Officer is hereby created pursuant to the provisions of Section 5 of P.L. 1988, c. 110 N.J.S.A. 40:A9-140.1 et seq.) to carry out and discharge the responsibilities contained therein and as set forth under P.L. 1947 c. 151 (N.J.S.A. 52:27BB-26 et seq.) and other applicable general laws, regulations and ordinances.
The Chief Financial Officer shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Borough Council and shall be certified as a municipal finance officer in accordance with the provisions of P.L. 1988, c. 110 (N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140, et seq.).
The term of the Chief Financial Officer shall be one year from the date of such appointment.
The Chief Financial Officer shall perform such duties and discharge such responsibilities as are requested by general law, regulation and ordinance and as are assigned from time to time by the Mayor or Council.
The salary of the Chief Financial Officer shall be as provided by the annual Salary Ordinance of the Borough of Wanaque.[1]
