The permit fee for the Brook Street Parking Lot, West Shore
Avenue section 2-5, West Quackenbush Avenue (north side, 125 feet
west of Park Avenue), and Washington Street (east side, from Massachusetts
Avenue to Washington Avenue) shall be $120 per year, as of January
1, 2013, for Dumont Borough residents and business proprietors and
their employees. The permit fee for nonresident commuters shall be
$180 per year.
All residents and employees of businesses located in the Borough
of Dumont with a valid driver's license and vehicle registration are
eligible to obtain a parking permit at the resident fee. Nonresident
employees shall present a pay stub no more than 30 days old as proof
of employment by a Borough employer. Such permits shall be distributed
on a first-come, first-served basis, upon presentation of the documents
set forth herein evidencing a current Dumont residential or employment
address. A parking permit may be obtained from the office of the Dumont
Municipal Clerk, located at 50 Washington Avenue, between the hours
of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Each permit issued by the Borough shall be valid for the permit
year. If a permit is purchased after 180 days after the start of the
permit year, said permit fee shall be prorated to 1/2 of the permit
fee amount.
Any person who violates any provision of this article shall,
upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not exceeding $250.
A separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or
on which a new violation occurs or continues.
