It shall be unlawful for any person to fire, shoot or discharge in the Village, any gun, pistol, rifle, shotgun or other firearms, or any air gun, air pistol or spring gun or pistol or any cannon or artillery piece; provided, however, that the prohibition above-contained shall not apply to a lawfully licensed amusement or to a duly authorized rifle or pistol range, or to any duly authorized police or military personnel, or any person in defense of his or her life or property. Further exceptions may be made hereto by written permit of the Chief of Police under circumstances beneficially and directly affecting the public health, welfare and safety.
Any person violating any provision of this chapter shall be subject to a fine of not more than $100.
Such violations shall constitute disorderly conduct and the person found guilty thereof shall be a disorderly person.
The unlawful use of any of the instruments described in § 134-1 by any person save a police or military officer shall be a nuisance, and such instruments are hereby declared to be nuisances when so used; and when taken from the possession of any person unlawfully using the same, such instrument shall thereupon be surrendered to the Chief of Police to be disposed of or destroyed in the manner provided for in § 1899 of the Penal Law of the State of New York.[1]
