As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
ABANDONED OR JUNKED VEHICLES
Any such vehicle on which its engine, motor or any other essential part is inoperable or has been removed or which bears no current inspection sticker or which bears no current official registration plate.
ILLEGALLY PARKED VEHICLE
Any vehicle parked contrary to any ordinance of the Township of Tinicum or contrary to any provision of the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code.[1]
PERSON
A natural person, firm, copartnership, association or corporation.
VEHICLE
Every device in, upon or by which any person or property is or may be transported or drawn.

It shall be unlawful for any person or owner or occupier of property in the Township of Tinicum to place, store or deposit or permit to be placed, stored or deposited any abandoned or junked vehicle or parts thereof on any public or private property in the Township of Tinicum, whether vacant or occupied, or upon any public street, highway, lane or alley within the Township of Tinicum.
Whenever it is found that any person or any owner or occupier of property in the Township of Tinicum places, stores or deposits or permits to be placed, stored or deposited any abandoned or junked vehicle on any public or private property, the Police Department of the Township of Tinicum shall serve notice upon said person, owner or occupier requiring him to remove said abandoned or junked vehicle within five days of receipt of said notice. It shall be sufficient notice to notify the person, owner or occupier by certified mail or to place an appropriate notice upon the vehicle.
Whenever any said person, owner or occupier fails to remove said abandoned or junked vehicle after said notice, the Township of Tinicum Police Department may remove said vehicle, place said vehicle in storage and hold said vehicle until the costs of storage and expenses for moving said vehicle are paid in full and until any fines and costs have been paid.
Whenever any abandoned or junked vehicle is placed on any public street, highway, lane or alley within the Township of Tinicum, the Police Department of the Township of Tinicum shall place a notice upon said vehicle, in a conspicuous place, to remove said vehicle within 48 hours.
Whenever the owner or person who placed said vehicle on any public street, highway, lane or alley, as set forth in § 358-5, fails to remove said vehicle within said 48 hours, the Township of Tinicum Police Department may remove said vehicle, place said vehicle in storage and hold said vehicle until the costs of storage and expenses for moving said vehicle are paid in full and until any fines and costs have been paid.
It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle illegally, or any public street, highway, lane or alley, which poses an immediate danger to the safety and welfare of the traveling public and the residents of the Township of Tinicum.
Whenever any illegally parked vehicle is parked in such a manner as to pose an immediate danger to the safety and welfare of the traveling public and the residents of the Township of Tinicum, the Police Department of the Township of Tinicum may remove said vehicle, place said vehicle in storage and hold said vehicle until the costs of storage and expenses for moving said vehicle are paid in full and until any fines and costs have been paid.
Any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof before a Magisterial District Judge, be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than $25 nor more than $600, plus costs of prosecution, and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to imprisonment in the county jail for a period not exceeding 30 days. Each day that a person shall be in violation of this chapter shall constitute a separate offense.
