The purpose of this chapter is to ban the use
of government buildings, or property and equipment for political events
or fund-raising.
As used in this chapter, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
CANDIDATE
Any individual seeking election to any local, school, county,
state or federal office.
POLITICAL CONTRIBUTION
Any transfer of money or incurrent contribution of value
to any candidate, elected official or their representatives.
PUBLIC PROPERTY
All property owned, leased or controlled by Manchester Township.
It shall be unlawful for any candidate to solicit
or receive a political contribution on public property. It shall also
be unlawful for any municipal official, employee or appointee to solicit,
commit to pay or receive any political contributions for any candidates
on public property or while using public property.
Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be subject to the penalties included in Chapter
1, Article
II, General Penalty, of the Township Code.
