Planning Commission — See Ch. 6, Art. IV.
Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 127 of the Connecticut General Statutes, the City of Meriden hereby adopts the provisions of said chapter and joins the Regional Planning Agency for the South Central Region, as defined by the Connecticut Development Commission, pursuant to the provisions of said chapter.
A. 
The City of Meriden, having a population of 55,558 according to the Federal Census of 1980, shall have three representatives to the Agency.
B. 
The City Council is hereby authorized to appoint two electors of the City of Meriden as delegates to the Regional Planning Agency. One delegate is to serve initially for a term of one year from the effective date of this chapter. One delegate is to serve a term of two years from the effective date of this chapter.
C. 
The Planning Commission, duly constituted, shall elect one member of said Planning Commission or the Director of Planning to serve a term of two years as a delegate to the Regional Planning Agency. Said term shall commence with the effective date of this chapter.
D. 
Thereafter the terms of appointment for all delegates shall be for two years.
Vacancies created by resignation or inability to serve shall be filled by the appointing body until the term expires. Any representative who is absent from three consecutive regular meetings of the Regional Planning Agency and any intervening duly called special meetings thereof shall be considered to have resigned from said body, except that the requirements of this section may be waived by the Council for good cause.
