[HISTORY: Adopted by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Port Allegany 1-4-1989 by Ord. No. 373. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The borough hereby creates a Civil Service Commission of three members in said borough whose duty it shall be to pass upon applicants for appointment to the Police Department of the aforesaid borough, their promotion and removal and to perform all other duties required by the Act of Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania of May 4, 1927, P.L. 519, and amendments and supplements thereto.[1]

The Civil Service Commission shall consist of three Commissioners who shall be qualified electors of the Borough of Port Allegany, and the terms of the first Commissioners are as follows: one shall serve for a term of two years, one shall serve for a term of four years and one shall serve for a term of six years.[1] As the terms of the aforesaid persons shall expire, the Borough Council shall appoint Commissioners who shall be appointed for terms of six years.
