The following items shall be deemed to be recyclables and should be separated as follows:
1.
Plastic
All items must be washed clean and all metal caps removed and placed at the recycle area.
2.
Glass
Only glass containers can be recycled.
All containers must be washed clean, all caps and rings removed and placed at the designated recycle area.
3.
Newsprint
All newsprint must be dry, tied in bundles or placed in paper bags and put in the designated container at the recycle area.
The following items cannot be recycled and are excluded: magazines, telephone books, books, and anything printed on glossy paper.
4.
Cardboard
All cardboard must be clean, dry, brown, flattened and tied in bundles not exceeding a size of 4'x3'x1' and placed in the designated container at the recycle area.
The following cannot be recycled and are excluded: waxed, yellow, brown asian and plastic lined cardboard.
5.
Office paper
All office paper must be dry, tied in bundles and placed in the designated container at the recycle area.
The following cannot be recycled as "office paper": colored stationery.
6.
Aluminum
All cans and trays must be washed clean. All other aluminum items must be free of other materials, (i.e. beach chairs must have fabric removed) and placed in the designated container at the recycle area.
7.
Tin Cans
All cans must be washed clean and placed in the designated container at the recycle area.
8.
Tires
Only non-commercial tires and they must be placed in the designated container at the recycle area. Rims and wheels must be removed and placed in the "metal area".
9.
Batteries
Only non-commercial batteries which must be placed in the designated container at the recycle area.
The following cannot be recycled and are considered as "hazardous waste": batteries with leaks and flashlight and household type batteries.
10.
Compostables
Must be placed in the compost area at the transfer station.
11.
Demolition and Building Waste
Must be placed in the designated area or container at the transfer station.
12.
White Goods and Metal
Must be placed in the designated area at the transfer station.
13.
Motor Oil
Only non-commercial. Must be placed in the designated container at the recycle area.
