No request for permission to tap into the Borough water distribution system for purposes of installing a fire prevention sprinkling system will be reviewed by the Borough until the applicant submits a street opening permit on Borough-, county- or state-owned streets or a written permission from the builder on privately owned streets not yet acquired by the municipal government.
An inspection fee of $10 shall be submitted with the application. A deposit of $50 shall also be submitted by the applicant and shall be returned to the contractor upon the inspection and approval of the installation by the Department Superintendent.

The Borough reserves the right to require metering of any fire prevention system. All meters shall be furnished and installed by the customer. No charge shall be made for any water used in fighting a fire.
A. 
Sprinkler systems shall be installed with a double-check backflow preventor.
B. 
Main taps shall be inspected for workmanship and leakage by the Superintendent or his representative prior to backfilling.
C. 
All taps shall be made during the regular 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. business hours of the Borough Water and Sewer Utility.

The following yearly fees will be charged for any sprinkler or fire protection system extended from the Borough's water distribution system. The charge will be based on the system. The charge will be based on the size of the connection at the main tap.

For each fire hydrant located on private property an annual fee of $90 will be charged.
