[Ord. No. 208, passed 8-5-1952]
It is the considered opinion of the Board that the extension of the Social Security System to certain employees of the Township will be of great benefit, not only to the employees of the Township by providing that said employees may participate in the provisions of the Old Age and Survivors Insurance System, but will also be of great benefit to the Township by enabling it to attract and retain in employment the best of personnel and thus increase the efficiency of its government.
[Ord. No. 402, enacted 6-12-1991]
The Township shall become a participant in the Social Security System and that the benefits of Old Age Survivors Insurance be extended to all employees of the Township, except that, the provisions of the subparagraph shall not be applicable to services performed by:

Any individual as an employee serving on a temporary basis in case of fire, storm snow, earthquake, flood, or other similar emergency;
