The Mayor shall be the chief executive and administrative officer of the City. He shall:
A.
Enforce the Charter and ordinances of the City.
B.
Supervise all of the departments of the City government.
C.
Require each department to make an annual report and such other reports of its work as he may deem desirable.
D.
Appoint all officers and employees for whose election or appointment no other provision is made by Charter or ordinance.
E.
From time to time, make such recommendations for action by the Council as he may deem in the public interest.
F.
Report annually, at the beginning of the year, to the Council and the public on the work of the previous year and the condition and requirements of the City government for the current year.
G.
Appoint Judges of the Municipal Court, with the advice and consent of the Council, as provided in N.J.S.A. 2A:8-5,[1] and appoint such additional clerical assistants as may be necessary to the Municipal Court and to supervise and perform such administrative duties as may be necessary for the proper functioning of such Court.

H.
Supervise and direct all necessary public City and public relations functions of the City.
I.
Perform such other duties as the provisions of this chapter or other provisions of this Code of the City of Camden may require or as may be prescribed by other ordinances of the City.
J.
Exercise any act empowered under law to preserve and protect the public health, safety and welfare.
K.
Appoint, with the advice and consent of City Council, the members of the various boards, commissions and authorities created by law or ordinance.

L.
Create advisory bodies which the Mayor deems necessary and convenient and to appoint the members of those advisory bodies.

M.
Organize ad hoc working groups of City employees to perform special projects.

Organize and supervise tasks not specifically assigned to the various departments.
