A. Keeping Of Livestock Prohibited. No livestock (as used
herein "livestock" includes, but is not limited to, the following
animals: horses, mules, cattle, sheep, goats and swine or animals
of similar or larger size) or wild animals of similar or larger size
shall be kept, maintained, pastured or fed in any area of the City
zoned as residential.
B. Rabbits,
chickens, poultry and fowl are allowed to be kept in residential areas
if totally contained and on the property the owner or keeper resides
upon, but only with a one hundred (100) foot buffer in place between
the containment and adjacent residential living space which includes
a house or any part thereof, patio or deck as the adjacent property
exists at the time of occupation by such animals, with a maximum of
twelve (12) such animals total.
C. Running At Large. Livestock shall not be allowed to run
at large and when legally kept must be restrained in a manner and
by such means as will prevent such animals from escaping, straying
or running at large.
D. Manure And Odor. All manure accumulations in the area where
livestock or other animals are kept, shall be removed, stored or disposed
of in such a manner as to prevent attracting flies, the spread of
disease or noxious odors.
E. Any
person violating the provisions of this Section is guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not more than five hundred
dollars ($500.00) or up to ninety (90) days in jail, or by a combination
of fine and jail time. Each day that a person is in violation of this
Section shall be deemed a separate offense.
