A. Due
to difficulties experienced by the City in collecting overdue accounts
on Municipal Utility usage, it is necessary to take certain steps
to minimize the City's losses suffered through nonpayment of utility
bills. To that end, the following requirements are hereby adopted:
1. No person owing the City any money from any source will be granted
the use of City utilities for extensions and new hook-ups.
2. A new hook-up or a transfer from an old hook-up will not be made
until past due accounts are paid.
3. "Customer" as used herein shall be deemed to include all residents of a dwelling of legal age, whether married or unmarried, except full-time students residing with a parent or parents, and all persons or entities possessing any ownership interest whatsoever in a business. All customers will be required to contract with the City for utilities and shall be liable for payment therefore. All customers must comply with the requirements of Subsection
(1) above.
4. "Delinquent" as used herein shall be deemed to be
on or after the twenty-first (21st) day of any month.

A right to connect charge of seventy-five dollars ($75.00) shall
be paid by the property owner for each connection to the sewer made
at the request of the property owner. A water connection charge for
various size service connections shall be paid as follows:
3/4 inch service

A. A reconnection
fee of ten dollars ($10.00) per utility shall be charged to the customer
who requires a utility reconnection during regular hours of operation
due to a relocation of utility service at a location at which service
has been discontinued for any reason other than disconnection for
non-payment of service or for any new service that does not require
a deposit.
B. A reconnection
fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) per utility shall be charged to the
customer who requires a utility reconnection during non-working hours
due to a relocation of utility service at a location at which service
has been discontinued for any reason other than disconnection for
non-payment of service or for any new service that does not require
a deposit.
C. A reconnection
fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per utility shall be charged to
the customer who requires a reconnection during regular hours of operation
because of a discontinuation of service due to non-payment of their
utility bill.
D. A reconnection
fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) per utility shall be charged to the
customer who requires a reconnection because of discontinuation of
service due to non-payment of his/her utility bill if the reconnection
is made during hours when City Hall is closed.
