The salary of the Mayor of the Borough of West Reading is hereby fixed at $2,000 a year, payable in monthly installments.
The compensation of each of the Councilmen of the Borough of West Reading, except for the President, is hereby fixed at $125 per month.
The compensation of the President of the Council of the Borough of West Reading is hereby fixed at $2,000 a year, payable in monthly installments.

The compensation of the Borough of West Reading Tax Collector for the collection of taxes shall be paid under one of the following two options. While it is the intent of Borough Council that the Tax Collector be compensated under Option B, it shall be the Tax Collector's decision which option to be compensated under. The options are as follows:
A. 
Option A: Under this option the elected Tax Collector assumes the responsibility of mailing all per capita and real estate tax bills, receiving and collecting taxes generated by those bills and providing the Borough with the audit of taxes collected on behalf of the Borough as required by law.

Per capital tax paid, but only for so long as the Borough of West Reading continues to levy and access the per capita tax: $0.40 per bill.
(2) 
Taxes for general and fire protection purposes levied on all real estate within the Borough of West Reading: $0.70 per bill (to be computed based upon the total number of duplicates issued to the Tax Collector).
B. 
Option B: This option is to compensate the Tax Collector on a per bill basis if the Tax Collector deputizes and appoints a Deputy Tax Collector which shall be approved by the Borough, as authorized by 72 P.S. § 5511.22, granting the Deputy Tax Collector the authority to receive and collect taxes. Tax certification will be done by the Borough/Deputy Tax Collector in cooperation with the Tax Collector. The Tax Collector shall also enter into an agreement with the Borough and the Deputy Tax Collector confirming the responsibilities of all parties.
(1) 
Per capita tax bill mailed, but only for so long as the Borough of West Reading continues to levy and access the per capita tax: $0.25 per bill.
(2) 
Taxes for general and fire protection purposes levied on all real estate within the Borough of West Reading: $0.40 per bill (to be computed based upon the total number of duplicates issued to the Tax Collector).

A designated official of the Borough of West Reading is authorized to issue certifications of real estate taxes as reported by the Tax Collector or Deputy Tax Collector, including Borough and County taxes shall charge a flat fee for each such certification issued as established by Resolution of Borough Council.
A designated official of the Borough of West Reading is authorized to issue copies of duplicates of real estate tax invoices, including Borough, county and school taxes, for a fee of $5 for each copy of a duplicate.
