The use of tobacco products has been shown to be hazardous to
one's health. The purpose of this chapter is to provide a safe and
healthy environment for members of the public and all employees of
the Village of Grafton by regulating the use of these products in
municipal buildings.
The following definitions shall apply to this chapter:
CIGARETTES
Shall be defined as indicated in § 139.30(1m),
Wis. Stats., and shall mean any roll of tobacco wrapped in paper or
other substance other than tobacco.
SMOKING
To smoke or carry a lighted pipe, cigar or cigarette or a
tobacco product as outlined herein in any form.
TOBACCO PRODUCTS
Cigars, cheroots, stogies, periques, granulated, plug cut,
crimp cut, ready-rubbed and other smoking tobacco, cavendish and twisted
tobacco, fine cut and other tobaccos, shorts, refuse scraps, clippings,
cuttings and sweepings of tobacco and other kinds and forms of tobacco
prepared in such a manner as to be suitable for smoking in a pipe
or otherwise. "Tobacco products" does not include cigarettes, as defined
under § 139.30(1m), Wis. Stats.
Members of the public who violate any provisions of this chapter
shall, upon conviction thereof, forfeit not less than $50 for the
first offense and not more than $100 for the second and subsequent
offenses, together with the costs of prosecution.
