Every person, whether principal or agent, entering into or desiring to conduct a transient retail business within the Township of Stowe for the sale of any goods, wares or merchandise and who hires, leases or occupies a room, apartment, store, shop, building or other structure for the exhibition and sale of goods, wares or merchandise shall, before starting such sale, take out a license for the sale of the same from the Township Secretary.

The amount to be paid for said license shall be as established by resolution of the Board of Commissioners for each month or fractional part thereof and shall be paid to the Township Secretary for the use of the Township.
This article shall not apply to farmers selling their own produce or to any sale of goods, wares or merchandise donated by the owners thereof, the proceeds whereof to be applied to any charitable or philanthropic purpose.

Any person violating any provision of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $600, and costs of prosecution, or, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to imprisonment for not more than 30 days.
Each day that said sale is conducted in violation of the terms of this article shall be construed as a separate offense and shall subject said person to all the penalties provided for in this article.
