No person shall hawk, peddle, sell or offer for sale on any public street or place in the Village of Adams, any goods, wares or merchandise without first obtaining a license to do so. No person shall sell from house to house any milk, meat, fish, fruit or farm produce, without first obtaining a license to do so unless such produce shall have been wholly grown or produced by themselves, their principals or their employees.

All persons desiring to sell, hawk or peddle goods, wares or merchandise from house to house or on the streets of said Village and all persons desiring to sell, hawk, vend or offer to sell produce which has not been grown or produced by themselves, their principals or their employees, before doing so, must obtain from the Village Clerk a license to do so at the annual fee, as determined by the Village Board, or a daily fee as determined by the Village Board. Such license shall be valid from March 1 of each year until midnight of the last day of February of the year following.

Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine of not less than $50 nor more than $250. Each day of continued violation is a separate and distinct offense.
