There shall be a local Board of Health in the Town of Secaucus, in the County of Hudson, and shall be composed of seven members. Said members of the Board of Health shall receive compensation for their services as provided in the annual Salary Ordinance,[1] which is to be paid quarterly. The Secretary-member of said Board shall receive the sum as provided in the annual Salary Ordinance in addition to the annual compensation received as a Board member.

The members of the said Board of Health shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval and consent of the Town Council.
A. 
All members of said Board of Health shall be appointed for the term of four years or until their respective successors are appointed, except that the members of said Board of Health first appointed hereunder shall be appointed two for the term of one year, two for the term of two years, two for the term of three years, and one for the term of four years. Members shall be appointed annually thereafter by the Mayor with the approval and consent of the Town Council to fill the vacancies created by the expiration of the terms as herein set forth.
B. 
The terms of all members of said Board of Health shall begin as of noon on the first day of January of the year in which his or their appointment or appointments is or are made.
C. 
Vacancies in said Board of Health caused by death, resignation, removal from the town or in any other manner shall be filled by the Mayor with the approval and consent of the Town Council for the unexpired terms of the members who held the offices thus vacated.
