A. 
The Craley Community Fire Company is hereby authorized to provide such services to the Township as may be necessary for the protection of property and persons situate therein, which services include, by way of example and not of limitation, the extinguishment and prevention of loss of life and property from fire, vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, and other situations that may endanger the health, safety, and welfare of the Township and its residents or visitors.
B. 
The Company may also provide nonemergency and public service functions such as, by way of example and not of limitation, removing water from property after storms and assisting in the removal, abatement and prevention of damage or injury to persons or property, whether through natural causes or otherwise.
C. 
The Company may also conduct and participate in such training activities and drills, either within or outside of the Township, as may be deemed necessary by the officers of the Company to maintain proficiency in providing service.
D. 
The Company may also respond to calls and provide services to municipalities outside of the Township upon receiving a request for mutual aid.
A. 
Members of the Company are authorized to participate in any of the activities of the Company authorized by the provisions of § 24-1 of this chapter, and to go to or return from any such activity.
B. 
In addition, the members of the Fire Company are also authorized to do the following things:
(1) 
Engage in any type of drill, training, practice, test, ceremony or parade when authorized or directed by an officer or officers of the Fire Company.
(2) 
Engage in fund-raising activities for the Fire Company when authorized or directed by an officer or officers of the Fire Company.
C. 
Participation in social and athletic events that are not connected with fund-raising shall not be considered to be authorized activities of members of the Company, whether or not authorized by an officer or officers of the Fire Company.
Fire police are authorized to direct traffic at accident scenes or fires and to perform other duties when directed to do so by the Board of Supervisors or the Chief of Police. They shall not be authorized to direct traffic or perform duties at the request of any other person or organization.
The purpose of this chapter is to authorize additional activities for firefighters for workers' compensation purposes as set forth in Section 601(a) of the Workers' Compensation Act, 77 P.S. § 1031(a).
This chapter shall become effective five days after date of enactment as provided by law.
