Within six months, or as determined by site plan review, as applicable, after work or any excavation for a building has begun, such excavation shall be covered over or refilled by the owner to the normal grade. Any building substantially destroyed from any cause or rendered incapable of its intended use shall be rebuilt or demolished within six months. Any excavation or cellar hole remaining after the demolition or destruction of a building from any cause or any abandoned well shall be immediately protected by visible, substantial, childproof barriers and then permanently covered over or filled by the owner within 30 days. In the case of a natural disaster, i.e., fire, the time limit of this section may be waived at the discretion of the Board of Trustees.

Failure to comply with any of the provisions of this article shall be deemed a violation and the violator shall be punished as set forth on the Village of Dryden Fine Schedule, which Fine Schedule may be established by resolution and thereafter amended from time to time by resolution of the Village Board of Trustees.
