A. 
When any vehicle is parked or abandoned on any street, highway or public parking field within the incorporated limits of the Village during a snowstorm, flood, fire or other public emergency which affects that portion of the public street, highway or parking field upon which said vehicle is parked or abandoned, said vehicle may be removed by or under the direction of the Village of Belle Terre.
B. 
When any vehicle is found unattended on any highway or public parking field within the incorporated limits of the Village where said vehicle constitutes an obstruction to traffic, said vehicle may be removed by or under the direction of the Village of Belle Terre.
C. 
The following locations are designated as tow-away zones: Anchorage Road, Park Lane and John W. Knapp Beach.
A. 
After removal of any vehicle as provided in this Article, the Village of Belle Terre may store or cause such vehicle to be stored in a suitable place at the expense of the owner. Such owner or person in charge of the vehicle may redeem the same upon payment to the duly authorized agent of the Village with whom stored of the amount of all expenses actually and necessarily incurred in effecting such removal, such charge to be $50, together with any charge for storage, such storage charges not to exceed $2 per day or fraction thereof.
B. 
Neither the Village of Belle Terre nor its duly authorized agent will be held responsible for any damage that may be incurred to the vehicle nor for any personal belongings contained therein.
C. 
Any and all charges incurred by the owner of any vehicle removed as provided in this Article are independent of any attendant parking fines incurred under this chapter.
The Village of Belle Terre shall, without delay, report the removal and the disposition of any vehicle removed as provided in this Article to the Suffolk County Police Department, and it shall be the duty of the Suffolk County Police Department to ascertain to the extent possible the owner of the vehicle or person having the same charge and to notify him or her of the removal and disposition of such vehicle and of the amount which shall be required to redeem the same.
