A certain document, copies of which are on file in the office of the Township Clerk of the Township of Grosse Ile, being marked and designated as the 2000 International Fire Code, First Edition, December 1999, as published by the International Code Council, Inc., is hereby adopted as the Fire Prevention Code of the Township of Grosse Ile, in the State of Michigan, for the control of buildings and structures as herein provided; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said International Fire Code are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this article with additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in §
110-2 of this article.
The International Fire Code is amended and changed
in the following respects:
A. Section 101.1, Title (page 1, second line): Insert
Grosse Ile Township.
B. Section 1106, Fuel Dispensing, is amended to read
as follows:

Fuel dispensing: The dispensing, transfer or
storage of flammable or combustible liquid (other than 2 1/2
gallons combined of flammable or combustible liquids which may be
stored in UL approved safety type I containers only and two cases
of motor oil may be stored within the existing T-hangars) shall not
be permitted inside of or upon any building or structure. Flammable
or combustible liquid shall not be dispensed into or removed from
a container, tank, vehicle or aircraft except in an approved location.

The purpose of the International Fire Code,
as adopted by this article, is to protect the health, safety and general
welfare of the citizens of the Township of Grosse Ile.
The International Fire Code, Edition 2000, is
available for inspection by and distribution to the public at the
Grosse Ile Fire Department, 24525 Meridian, Grosse Ile, Michigan,
during regular business hours.
Penalties for violation of this article shall be punishable as provided in Chapter
1, General Provisions, §
1-3. The provisions of Chapter
1, Article
II, Municipal Civil Infractions, also apply to violations of this article.
