It shall be unlawful for any persons to carry on or work at the business of plumbing for house or building drainage in the Borough of Palmerton until a plumber's certificate or license to engage in or work at said business shall have been granted said persons by the Borough Secretary.
Every person desiring to engage in the business of plumbing for house or building drainage in the Borough of Palmerton and having three years' or more practical experience in such work or business shall apply, in writing, to the Borough Secretary, stating name, address of place of business, experience record and other pertinent information, and if after proper examination made by the Board of Examiners such person or persons so applying shall be found competent, the same shall be certified to the Borough Secretary, who shall thereupon issue a plumber's certificate or license to such person or persons.
A. 
The Borough Council of Palmerton is hereby authorized to appoint a Board of Examiners, to be selected annually for a term of one year, to consist of one member of Council, the Plumbing Inspector or Official and one competent plumber in no way connected with the Borough government, which shall examine all applicants for licenses under the provisions of this chapter. The said Board shall make reasonable rules, regulations and examinations, which shall be approved by the Borough Council.
B. 
An examination of any one member of a partnership, or an officer, superintendent or foreman of a corporate applicant, shall be deemed sufficient for the issuance of a plumber's license to such partnership or corporation, provided that the plumbing work performed in the Borough of Palmerton is subject to the supervision of the person taking such examination or of other approved partners or officers of the corporation.
C. 
Each person, firm or corporation engaged or engaging in the business of plumbing for house or building drainage shall pay for each examination such sum as shall be established from time to time by resolution of the Borough Council, which sum shall be paid into the Borough Treasury.
A. 
At the expiration of each calendar year, said certificate or license shall be null and void. A licensed plumber desiring to continue in or work at the business or plumbing for house or building drainage for the ensuing year shall, between the first and 31st days of December of each and every year, reregister his, their or its name or names and business or home address with the Borough Secretary on such forms as may from time to time be furnished by him/her.
B. 
A reexamination will not be necessary for reregistration, unless the licensed plumber should have failed to make an application for reregistration within the specified time. The sum specified by resolution of the Borough Council shall be paid by plumbers, firms or corporations for reregistration, which sum shall be paid into the Borough treasury.
A register of all such applicants and the license or certificates issued shall be kept by the Borough Secretary, which said register shall be open to the inspection of all persons interested therein.
Any person, firm or corporation outside a radius of one mile of the Borough of Palmerton, holding a license or certificate granted by another municipality and approved by the Council of the Borough of Palmerton to engage in or work at the business of plumbing or drainage work in the Borough of Palmerton, shall, without examination, be registered before entering upon such work upon payment of a registration fee as established from time to time by resolution of the Borough Council.
