A. 
An Airport Advisory Committee is established. The Airport Advisory Committee shall consist of five members appointed by resolution of the Township Board. In addition, the Airport Manager will be appointed to serve as Township liaison. Terms of office for Committee members shall be for three years. Appointments shall be staggered.
B. 
The Township Supervisor shall select a Chairperson prior to the first quarterly meeting of each fiscal year. The Chairperson shall assume the duties of the presiding officer immediately following his or her election.
C. 
Each member appointed to the Committee shall reside in Grosse Ile Township, Michigan.
D. 
Any member of a Township Committee who is absent from more than two consecutive meetings of the Committee in any one fiscal year may be dismissed from membership on the Committee at the discretion of the Township Board or may be removed by the Township Board under Chapter 67, Commissions, Article I, § 67-1A(7).
E. 
The Airport Advisory Committee shall hold regular monthly meetings at a date, place and time to be set by the Airport Manager. A schedule of meetings adopted by the Committee shall be provided to the Township Board, posted at the Township Hall and be available to the general public through the office of the Clerk.
F. 
The Airport Manager may call a special meeting of the Committee whenever, in his/her opinion, the business of the Committee may require it. Notice of special meetings shall be made in conformance with the Michigan Open Meetings Act.
G. 
A majority of the members of the Committee shall constitute a quorum and be necessary for the transaction of business. If a quorum is not present, those in attendance shall be named and shall adjourn to a later time.
H. 
All meetings of the Committee shall be open to the public and freely subject to recording, provided that such arrangements do not interfere with the orderly conduct of the meetings under such rules as the Committee may prescribe.
I. 
Minutes of all regular and special meetings shall be maintained in the office of the Clerk. The minutes shall reflect the date, time and place of the meetings; members recorded as either present or absent; a general description of all matters proposed, discussed or decided; and a record of any votes taken. Minutes of all meetings shall be taken. Approval of minutes shall be considered at the next regular meeting of the Committee. Copies of approved minutes shall be provided to the Township Manager and the Airport Manager.

Members of the Committee shall serve without compensation.
B. 
If any member, for any reason, resigns or relinquishes his or her membership on the Committee, a replacement shall be appointed by the Township Board to fill the vacancy for the remainder of that unexpired term.
The Airport Advisory Committee, established under the authority of the Aeronautics Code of the State of Michigan (Act 327 of the Public Acts of 1945, as amended), shall provide advice and recommendations to the Township Manager and the Airport Manager on the maintenance and concerning the operation of the Grosse Ile Municipal Airport.
A. 
The Committee shall adopt written rules and procedures for the conduct of its business. These written rules shall include, but are not limited to, defining the duties and responsibilities of the Chairperson.
B. 
The Committee shall submit comments and recommendations on the proposed Grosse Ile Municipal Airport budget to the Airport Manager and Township Manager prior to consideration of the budget by the Township Board.
C. 
The Committee shall function in an advisory capacity only and shall have no authority to adopt, amend, modify, alter or rescind any rule, regulation or ordinance for the management, governance or use of the Grosse Ile Municipal Airport. The Committee shall make recommendations regarding aeronautical operations involving technical aviation and safety matters to the Airport Manager. Financial and budgetary items are limited in scope as defined above.
