CHARTER REVISION
Effective with the general election held in November 2013, the Town changed to a Town Council/Town Manager form of government. According to Charter § 11.04, any references in Town ordinances to the "First Selectman" or to the "Board of Selectmen" shall now be deemed to refer to the "Town Manager" or the "Town Council," as appropriate.

There is hereby established in the Town of Cromwell, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 130 of the General Statutes, 1958 Revision, as amended, a Redevelopment Agency to be known as the "Cromwell Redevelopment Agency."

The Agency shall consist of seven members appointed by the Town Manager, all said members to be electors resident in the Town of Cromwell.
A. 
The members first appointed shall be for the following terms:
(1) 
One member for a term of one year.
(2) 
One member for a term of two years.
(3) 
One member for a term of three years.
(4) 
Two members for a term of four years.
(5) 
Two members for a term of five years.
B. 
Thereafter members shall be appointed annually in the same manner as above to serve for five years, except that each member shall serve until his successor is appointed and has qualified. Any vacancy shall be filled by appointment of the Town Manager.

Action by said Agency shall be taken only on the majority vote of all the members.
The Agency shall select from among its members a Chairman, a Vice Chairman and such other officers as it deems necessary and may employ a secretary and such other officers, agents, technical consultants, legal counsel and employees as are required for the Agency to carry out its duties under the law. Members shall serve without compensation but may be reimbursed for necessary expenses.
