CHARTER REVISION
Effective with the general election held in November 2013, the Town changed to a Town Council/Town Manager form of government. According to Charter § 11.04, any references in Town ordinances to the "First Selectman" or to the "Board of Selectmen" shall now be deemed to refer to the "Town Manager" or the "Town Council," as appropriate.

The Town of Cromwell hereby adopts the provisions of Chapter 127 of the Connecticut General Statutes, Revision of 1958, as amended, and elects to join the Regional Planning Agency, now or henceforth existing under authority of said chapter, in the Lower Connecticut River Valley Planning Region, as defined by the Connecticut Development Commission pursuant to the provisions of said chapter.
A. 
The Town of Cromwell shall have two representatives on the Agency, of which one shall be appointed by the Town's Planning and Zoning Commission.

B. 
The Town Council shall appoint to the Agency one elector of the Town of Cromwell for an initial term of one year, and the Planning and Zoning Commission shall appoint one elector to the Agency for an initial term of two years. Thereafter, all representatives shall be appointed for two-year terms.

C. 
Appointees shall serve for the term of their office and until their successors shall have been appointed. Appointees may be reappointed. Terms of office shall commence when the appointment is made.

Vacancies created by resignation or inability to serve shall be filled by the Town Council for the remainder of the unexpired term. Any representative who is absent from three consecutive regular meetings of the Regional Planning Agency and any intervening duly called special meetings thereof shall be considered to have resigned from said body, except that the requirements of this section may be waived by the Town Council for good cause.
