[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Selectmen of the Town of Guilford 11-1-1976. Amendments noted where applicable.]
Pursuant to the Charter of the Town of Guilford, Section 7-7, the Board of Selectmen shall have the power to sell or otherwise dispose of real estate of the town not used or reserved for town purposes, in accordance with the following procedure:
A. 
Sealed offers for such land shall be solicited by legal notice published at least once in a newspaper having a substantial circulation within the town, which notice shall identify the land by the Assessor's Map and lot number and shall set a final date, not earlier than seven days after the date of the first publication, for submission of offers.
B. 
All offers received shall be opened at a meeting held after the final date specified for submission of offers.
C. 
If any offer is received, the Selectmen shall accept the highest such offer. If no offer is received within the time specified in the aforesaid notice, the Selectmen may dispose of such land in any manner, to any person, in their sole discretion, upon such terms and conditions as they may deem reasonable.
D. 
The Town of Guilford reserves the right to reject any and all bids.[1]
