A. 
The official workweek of the Township shall be as follows:
(1) 
Municipal Building: 35 hours.
(2) 
Department of Public Works:
(a) 
Union employees: 40 hours.
(b) 
Nonunion employees: 35 hours.
(3) 
Police dispatchers: Official workweek for Police Dispatchers is covered by the agreement between the Township of Bridgewater and the Bridgewater Municipal Employee's Association, where applicable.

B. 
The Mayor, in consultation with the Township Administrator, shall set forth the specific hours of work for each department.

A. 
The following official holidays with pay shall be observed by the Township unless an alternate day of observance is directed by the Mayor: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Lincoln's Birthday, Washington's Birthday, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, General Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday thereafter, Christmas Day and the day preceding Christmas when Christmas falls on a weekday.

B. 
If a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, it shall be celebrated and compensated accordingly on the workday preceding or the workday following such holiday, at the discretion of the Township.
C. 
Where it is necessary to maintain regular service requiring an employee to work on an official holiday, such employee shall be compensated by receiving 1 1/2 times the employee's regular rate for all hours actually worked in addition to receiving his/her regular holiday pay.

D. 
In the event that an official holiday is observed during an employee's vacation, he/she shall be entitled to an additional vacation day. If an official holiday occurs while an employee is on sick leave, he/she shall not have that holiday charged against his/her sick leave.

E. 
To be eligible to receive holiday pay, an employee must work his/her regularly scheduled workday before the holiday and his/her regularly scheduled workday after the holiday, unless the employee is on an approved absence with pay.

F. 
Subsections C, D and E of this section shall not apply to police dispatchers. Police dispatchers shall be entitled to the holidays listed in Subsection A of this section. The rate of pay for these holidays shall be the straight time, annual rate of pay in effect at the time of the holiday. Payment for these holidays shall be made in two semiannual installments. The first installment is to be made on the last payday in May and shall include payment for four holidays or five holidays, depending upon the day on which Christmas falls, in accordance with Subsections A and B. The second installment shall include payment for 10 holidays and shall be paid on the first payday in November. In the event that the Mayor declares an additional holiday for Township employees, a police dispatcher who is on duty that day shall be entitled to an additional day of pay, straight time, for each such additional holiday, said additional pay to be included in the semiannual installment payment next following such additional holiday.
