§ 106-1 Facilities established.

A. 
There is hereby established in the Township of Bridgewater a facility to be known as the "Township Dumpster," to be located on the Township property in the area behind the existing Public Works garage.
B. 
There is hereby established in the Township of Bridgewater a facility to be known as the "Township Recycling Center," to be located on Township property adjacent to Garretson Road.

§ 106-2 Use by residents for household trash.

A. 
The Township Dumpster and Recycling Center shall be available only to residents of the Township of Bridgewater and shall be used for disposing of household trash only.
B. 
No vehicle larger than a one-half-ton pickup truck shall be used to bring materials to the Township Dumpster.

§ 106-3 Hours of operation.

A. 
The Township Dumpster shall be available to the public during the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. the first and third Saturday of each month, except official Township holidays. The facility will be closed at all other times.
B. 
The Township Recycling Center will be available to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. every Saturday, except official Township holidays. The facility will be closed at all other times.

§ 106-4 Materials appropriate for deposit in Dumpster.

A. 
All trash shall be placed in the Dumpster. Those items too large to be placed in the Dumpster may be placed on the ground next to the Dumpster.
B. 
All metal items, including refrigerators, stoves, washing machines and similar items, shall be placed in an area specifically designated for this type of material.
C. 
The following items may not be deposited in the Township Dumpster:
(1) 
Kitchen garbage.
(2) 
Liquids of any type.
(3) 
Chemicals, solid or liquid.
(4) 
Masonry, including but not limited to bricks, stones and cement.
(5) 
Dirt, sand and fill.
(6) 
Toxic or explosive materials.
(7) 
Any rubbish from commercial and industrial establishments.
(8) 
Building materials, including but not limited to materials from building construction, building alterations and building removal.
(9) 
Tree limbs, grass cuttings or leaves.

§ 106-5 Materials appropriate for deposit in Recycling Center.

The following materials may be disposed of at the Township Recycling Center as directed by signs and/or attendants at the site:
A. 
Newspapers, magazines and similar paper material.
B. 
Glass.
C. 
Aluminum cans.
D. 
Tree limbs, grass cuttings and leaves.

§ 106-6 Permits required.

Only those persons who are in possession of a valid permit issued by the Township of Bridgewater Department of Public Works shall be permitted to deposit any material in the Township Dumpster or at the Township Recycling Center. The Department shall also issue vehicle stickers which must be prominently displayed on the permit holder's vehicle. Permits and stickers shall not be transferable. Township Dumpster fees shall be as set forth in Chapter 94 of the Township Code.

§ 106-7 Duties of Department of Public Works.

In order to effectuate the provisions of this chapter, the Department of Public Works is directed as follows:
A. 
To prepare regulations for the use of the Township Dumpster and Township Recycling Center, which regulations shall be subject to approval, by resolution, of the Township Council.
B. 
To prepare for the Township Council for its approval, by resolution, a map or plan indicating the specific locations of the two facilities described in this chapter.
C. 
To provide notice to the residents of the Township of the existence and location of the Township Dumpster and the Township Recycling Center and to make available to the public copies of the regulations governing the use thereof.

§ 106-8 Violations and penalties.

Any person who shall violate any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be liable for a fine of not more than $500 or imprisonment for a term of not more than 90 days, or both, in the discretion of the Municipal Magistrate, and each day's failure to comply with any provision of this chapter shall constitute a separate violation.
