The fees for licenses herein provided for shall
be as follows, to wit:
A. An auctioneer: for an annual license, $100; for a
semiannual license, $50; and for a monthly license, $25.
B. For a hawker, solicitor, peddler, itinerant vendor
of merchandise, medicines or remedies, junk dealer or rag dealer,
the fees shall be as follows, to wit:
(1) If the business or occupation is to be conducted by
traveling without any vehicle or cart: $25 for an annual license;
$15 for a semiannual license; and $5 for a monthly license.
(2) If the business or occupation is to be conducted by
the use of pushcart, or other cart, not propelled by horse or motor
power: $40 for an annual license; $25 for a semiannual license; and
$15 for a monthly license.
(3) If the business or occupation is to be conducted by
the use of horse or horses and wagon, or a motorcar or truck, having
a capacity of not exceeding one ton: $100 for an annual license; $50
for a semiannual license; and $25 for a monthly license.
(4) If the business or occupation is to be conducted by
the use of a vehicle having a capacity of exceeding one ton: $200
for an annual license; $100 for a semiannual license; and $50 for
a monthly license.
(5) If such business or occupation is to be conducted
at a stand or fixed location, the fee for an annual license for such
location shall be $50; for a semiannual license for such location,
$25; and for a monthly license, $10.
C. The annual license for a show shall be $100; semiannual
license shall be $50; and for a monthly license, $25.
D. The annual fee for a license for a carnival shall
be $500.
E. The license for a circus shall be $100 per day.
This article shall not include the following
persons, who are expressly exempt from its application:
A. Any person honorably discharged from the military
service of the United States possessing a peddler's license issued
in conformity with N.J.S.A. 45:24-10.
C. Any person who conducts a sale pursuant to statute
or court order.
D. Persons selling or soliciting in behalf of local churches,
charities, fraternal organizations, philanthropic organizations and
municipal organizations.
E. Persons selling or soliciting in behalf of national
charitable, fraternal, philanthropic or religious organizations.
F. Persons selling or soliciting orders for the sale
of milk, dairy products, vegetables, poultry, eggs and other farm
and garden produce.
G. Newsboys selling or soliciting orders for the sale
of newspapers.

A. If this article of the Code of the Borough of Ridgefield
provides for the licensing or permitting of the violator, the Mayor
and Council of the Borough of Ridgefield reserve the right to revoke
such permit or license.
B. Any person found guilty of violating this article
of the Code of the Borough of Ridgefield shall be subject to a penalty
consisting of a fine or imprisonment, or both, subject to the discretion
of the Judge, the maximum of which shall be the maximum fine or term
of imprisonment permitted to be imposed by the court having jurisdiction
over the violation of this article of the Code of the Borough of Ridgefield;
provided, however, that the fine shall not be less than $100 nor more
than $2,000 per offense and the prison term shall not exceed 90 days
in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40:49-5.
C. In the event of a continuing violation, each day shall
constitute a separate offense.
