The Health Officer/Administrator, in his/her discretion, may terminate
or suspend new employees during the probationary period, and said termination
and reduction shall not be subject to any of the appeal or grievance procedures
provided herein. Said termination or suspension shall be subject to Board
approval.
Probationary employees shall not be eligible for annual salary increments.
Annual salary increments, if any, shall be retroactive to the date the employee
attains permanent status.
The employees of Ridgefield Board of Health, full-time and part-time,
shall receive the same holidays as do the municipal employees, which holidays
are determined by the state and Mayor and Council. Every employee will be
compensated for the aforesaid holidays. No part-time employee is entitled
to compensated holidays until that employee is employed by the Ridgefield
Board of Health for 180 days and has successfully completed probationary period.
In addition to the days designated as holidays by the Mayor and Council, each
employee covered by this agreement shall have a half-day closing Christmas
Eve as long as Christmas Eve falls during the workweek.
