The Town Board of the Town of Greenville may by majority vote employ
legal counsel and pay the costs of defending any Town official, agent or employee
against whom legal action may be instituted arising out of any alleged act
or omission which occurred or is alleged in the complaint to have occurred
while the officer, agent or employee was acting within the scope of his public
employment or duties and may pay any judgment or award which may be obtained
against such official, agent or employee for negligent acts of omission or
commission occurring in the scope of such employment.
